Earlier this month, we received some fantastic news that Responsible Cafes has been short-listed as a finalist in the prestigious Green Globe 2018 Awards! Run by the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage, the Green Globe Awards showcase people and projects (like us!) that are leading the way to conserve resources and reduce waste in New South Wales.
Responsible Cafes is a finalist in the Resource Efficiency Award, a category recognising groups that implement hands-on solutions for clean energy, water saving and conservation, waste avoidance, resource recovery and/or recycling practices.
We’ve been recognised for our commitment to reducing waste, through working with over 3700 cafes across Australia to engage customers and change behaviours, by encouraging cafes to offer a discount to customers who use their own cup. In NSW alone, we’re helping to save over 30 million cups each year from going to landfill and have 17 NSW councils on board with our campaign.
